Etsy Pricing Calculator
Tell us your costs and the profit or margin you want, and we'll solve for the exact selling price that gets you there — accounting for Etsy's fees, not just a rough percentage guess.
Estimated based on the assumptions you entered. Your actual fees may vary based on your Etsy account, country, payment setup, advertising participation, and transaction details.
How this calculation works
Most pricing "rules of thumb" just multiply your cost by a fixed number — but Etsy's fees are a mix of percentages and flat amounts, so a fixed multiplier gets less accurate depending on your price point. This calculator instead solves algebraically: it starts from your target profit or margin, works backward through Etsy's fee structure, and finds the exact price that produces it — accounting for the Offsite Ads $100-per-order cap if that applies to your sale.
Once solved, feed that price back into the Profit Calculator and it will reproduce the same profit or margin you asked for here.
Fee assumptions
- $0.20 listing fee, charged per unit sold
- 6.5% transaction fee on your item price + shipping charged
- 3% + $0.25 payment processing fee (US Etsy Payments account)
- Optional: 15% Offsite Ads fee (12% for shops with $10,000+ in trailing-12-month sales), capped at $100 per order, only if you mark a sale as ad-attributed
This profile assumes a US-based Etsy Payments account and does not include Etsy Ads budget, Etsy Plus subscription, currency conversion, sales tax, or refunds.
Example calculation
A seller wants $10 profit on an item that costs $5 in materials and $5 to actually ship, charging the buyer $5 for shipping.
| Required selling price | $17.60 |
| Revenue (item + shipping charged) | $22.60 |
| Estimated Etsy fees | –$2.60 |
| Product + shipping cost | –$10.00 |
| Estimated net profit | $10.00 |
| Profit margin | ~44.3% |
Tips for interpreting your result
- Pricing by target margin scales more consistently across products than pricing by a flat target profit — a $10 profit target means something very different on a $15 item than a $150 item.
- If "This target isn't achievable" appears, your target is asking for more profit than any price can produce given your costs and fee rates — lower the target or reduce your costs.
- Check "Show detailed breakdown" to see exactly how much of the solved price goes to fees versus your own costs.
