Etsy Profit Calculator
Enter your sale price and costs to see your estimated net profit after Etsy's fees — or flip it around and find the price you need to hit a profit goal.
Estimated based on the assumptions you entered. Your actual fees may vary based on your Etsy account, country, payment setup, advertising participation, and transaction details.
How this calculation works
Sellarithm starts from the total amount a buyer pays — your item price (after any discount) plus the shipping you charge. From that, it subtracts Etsy's listing fee, transaction fee and payment processing fee, then subtracts your own costs: materials, actual shipping cost, packaging, labor and anything else you add. What's left is your estimated net profit.
"Find My Price" runs the same formula in reverse: tell it the profit or margin you want, and it solves algebraically for the selling price that would produce it, given your costs and Etsy's fee rates.
Fee assumptions
- $0.20 listing fee, charged per unit sold
- 6.5% transaction fee on your item price + shipping charged
- 3% + $0.25 payment processing fee (US Etsy Payments account)
- Optional: 15% Offsite Ads fee (12% for shops with $10,000+ in trailing-12-month sales), capped at $100 per order, only if you mark a sale as ad-attributed
This profile assumes a US-based Etsy Payments account and does not include Etsy Ads budget, Etsy Plus subscription, currency conversion, sales tax, or refunds.
Example calculation
A candle sells for $25, with $5 shipping charged to the buyer. It costs $5 in materials and $6 to actually ship.
| Revenue (item + shipping charged) | $30.00 |
| Listing fee | –$0.20 |
| Transaction fee (6.5%) | –$1.95 |
| Payment processing fee | –$1.15 |
| Product cost | –$5.00 |
| Shipping cost | –$6.00 |
| Estimated net profit | $15.70 |
Tips for interpreting your result
- If shipping charged is lower than your actual shipping cost, you're covering the difference out of your margin — the calculator makes this visible on purpose.
- Profit margin and ROI are different: margin is profit relative to revenue, ROI (used on other Sellarithm tools) is profit relative to what you spent out of pocket.
- Try "Find My Price" with a target margin instead of a target profit — it's often a more consistent way to price across products of different sizes.
